THE SNOW HAS COME; 2015 IS GONE

COFFEE HOUSE BUZZ:

Homestead Suites finally has snow on the outdoor Christmas trees.  With the approx. 10" that fell overnight, snow shoe and ski enthusiasts are flocking to the Door Peninsula! With The Homestead at the entrance to the State Park, guests are taking advantage of the new fallen snow.  With the holiday behind us, all those new Christmas gifts are being put to good use.  Ski, tube, snowshoe rentals are right across the street, and the ice fisherman are patiently waiting the deep freeze.

FISH CREEK CHATTER:

Town decorations are reflecting the glistening snow.  Sidewalks are cleared, and the town is a magnet for guests cleaning up on those end-of-the-year sales, as well as watching their favorite sports team at the Bayside.   Winter weather has begun.

And....The Quiet Season Begins

COFFEE HOUSE BUZZ:

Guests at the Homestead are taking advantage of the crisp Autumn air along with the great value of our Quiet Season. " STAY TWO NIGHTS & GET A THIRD NIGHT FREE!!"

The Hunters are hunting.  Housekeepers are Fall Cleaning. Maintenance is maintaining the property.  The Front Desk keeps the coffee going for the local 'breakfast crew'.  A few deer have been harvested during the Archery Season, and our dear deer hunters are anticipating the upcoming Gun Season!

 FISH CREEK CHATTER:

Word around town has it that this Winter is predicted to be milder than most!  When the snow flies, sledding, snowshoeing, skiing, snowmobiling, ice fishing and Fish Creek's Winter Festival will be top priorities.  Maybe this will be the year that your family will come and enjoy what Winter has to offer in Fish Creek!

ANTICIPATING AWESOME FALL COLOR . . . .

COFFEE HOUSE BUZZ:

Here at the Homestead Suites, things are not winding down anytime soon.  Summer vacations are behind us, and we are hosting our groups of seniors, family and class reunions, weddings and special events!!  Guests are taking in the wonderful early Autumn weather, enjoying all the Homestead has to offer, as well as trying a few new things along the way.

FISH CREEK CHATTER:

All around town the shopping, festivals and delightful eating take priority with our visitors.  The Inside/Outside sale this weekend had shoppers carrying more bags than they could handle.  Businesses are replacing their summer gardens with gorgeous Fall decorations.  Farm markets are lined with pumpkins and there is plenty of hot apple cider tasting!

There is still plenty of time for golfing, biking, hiking and kayaking on the Door Peninsula.  The Peninsula Players and Northern Sky Theatre offer great shows and the apples are ripe - Pick Your Own !

Memorial Day Weekend

COFFEE HOUSE BUZZ:

It's official.........the Summer Season in Door County is in full swing.  Homestead Suites welcomes  guests as they kick-off  summer in Fish Creek!   With a full hotel, continental breakfast is a family favorite, as daily plans are made to enjoy all that Door County has to offer.  Hikers, bikers, golfers, shopppers, fishermen (and women) are taking to the Peninsula to exhale the winter cold and inhale the warmth of summer.

FISH CREEK CHATTER:

Cherry and apple blossoms abound. Flags are waving in observance of Memorial Day and the town is in motion.  Gardens are being tended as the deer have certainly had their fill of tulips this year!  June will honor our Dads and grads, and we hope to see you at the big 4th of July celebration in Fish Creek!  Have a safe trip.

P.S.  Eagle Tower in Peninsula State Park has been closed indefinitely until needed repairs can be made.

THINKING SPRING. . .

COFFEE HOUSE BUZZ:

As many Spring Breaks are being completed, visitors to the Door Peninsula are taking in the milder temps-leaving their skis behind, and bringing their hiking shoes, bicycles and light weight jackets!  The Homestead Staff is working diligently on completing their Spring tasks in all departments: Spring Cleaning, Linen updates, Indoor Maintenance and Landscaping.

Our Manager oversees all activities and is also looking forward to his turkey hunting week and getting those golf clubs ready!  The Front Desk is taking advance reservations.  Can't wait to welcome back our Return Guests, as well as preparing for our First Time Visitors, Group Travelers, Weddings, Family Reunions, Bikers and Golfers.

FISH CREEK CHATTER:

Around town, the Christmas lights are (mostly) down.  The White Gull Inn has reopened after a two week closure for some remodeling.  The snowbird business owners have yet to return, and the locals are filtering back from their Spring Breaks.  Still taking bets on "When the ice will be out"  of Green Bay.   Looking forward to a wonderful Tourist Season in FISH CREEK!   Happy Easter to all.

A DOOR COUNTY WINTER-

COFFEE HOUSE BUZZ:

As 2015 begins, frigid temps and negative wind chill factors seem to be the norm.  Local ice fisherman are catching some tasty filets.  Our guests who braved the elements for Valentine's / President's Day weekend were looking for a bit more snow, but a good time was had by all.  Great to visit with all of our return guests as well as welcoming our new guests to the Homestead Suites!

FISH CREEK CHATTER:

The Jacksonport Polar Bear Club took the annual PLUNGE on New Year's Day. Groundhog saw his shadow . . . . . Fish Creek's February Winter Festival brought out the best in everyone as the temps were actually milder than expected.  Plenty of events with shopping and dining were well attended.  Of course, the hot tub, hot chocolate, hot cider and hot coffee were favorites back at the Homestead.
