HALF WAY THROUGH OCTOBER

COFFEE HOUSE BUZZ:

The annual Sister Bay Fall Fest weekend is coming to an end.  Visitors from near and far came to celebrate the season in style!  A great number of our return guests took advantage of the chance to watch the parade, grab a bite and stroll through the arts and crafts exhibits.  For most, the Homestead Suites is their 'home away from home'.  Sunday's very warm weather was welcomed by all  as the early morning fog lifted.

FISH CREEK CHATTER:

Next weekend the Door County Fall 50 takes place, with those participating who appreciate the beautiful Autumn landscape that the County has to offer.

The final "Hurrah" of October is JACK O'LANTERN DAYS in Fish Creek for all who want to acknowledge the Halloween weekend.  Costume party, parade and trick or treating for the kids.

Pumpkin Patch Weekend is underway!  The whole peninsula enjoys celebrating the Fall Color, arts & crafts, grabbing a brat and that last ear of roasted corn for the year.  The Homestead boasts its colorful Autumn display, and guests take their selfies next to our cornstalks!






The Homestead staff is keeping up with the near-capacity number of guests during these popular weeks in October.  How wonderful it is to visit with our many return guests, who do their annual pilgrimage to appreciate the Door County Fall Season.






The local archery hunters are waiting to bag the big one, and the snowbirds are planning their escape to warmer climates.

FISH CREEK CHATTER:

Shoppers are taking advantage of the Seasonal Sales at the retailers.  Visitors are remarking about the great eating opportunities, orchards are harvesting and guests are stocking up on their favorite bag of apples or special cherry pie to take home.  Don't forget to plan your Winter trip to Fish Creek. 



Winding Down and Gearing Up...

As Autumn approaches, we reflect on a super Summer Season, and look forward to a busy Fall.  Many of our long time guests are returning for that last bicycle ride of the year in Peninsula State Park, taking that hike at the Ridges Sanctuary, or just getting that last shopping trip in before the fair weather ends.


The Homestead staff is keeping up with the demands of providing excellent guest service. While we meet and greet our new guests, we are catching up on the happenings in the lives of our return guests.  What a pleasure to see all our friends enjoying themselves as they each come to the Homestead Suites for their own unique reasons!

FISH CREEK CHATTER:

The town has not slowed down a bit, and the marigolds are still lining the streets.  Each weekend seems to attract many different visitors. Fish Creek has the big INSIDE/OUTSIDE SALE this coming weekend.  Eagle Tower in the State Park has been dismantled.  Trolleys are touring, wineries are doing tasting, apple orchards are there for the picking.

It is a pleasure to accommodate our many return guests, along with the new tourists and families who are trying us for the first time.  Everyone seems to want to come back! The local morning 'coffee clutch' adds a special charm to your stay at the Homestead Suites.  The latest fishing hot spots, weather forecasts and sporting events are among the daily topics.


The Homestead Suites is constantly keeping up with the demands of a premier resort hotel in Fish Creek, WI.  Our Laundry Department is quite happy with the  addition of another commercial washing machine! 

Out with the old.........In with the new!



FISH CREEK CHATTER:

This quaint harbor town is hopping with busy shoppers, bikers, hikers, kayakers, beach goers, boaters and anyone who enjoys the Summer happenings in Fish Creek!  The weather has been outstanding, and of course intermittent rain showers are appreciated by the farmers.  The July 4th celebration was a huge success, and the weekly special events have been well attended.  Cherry Season has just begun, so don't delay making your plans to pick your own cherries!

With the Memorial Day Weekend in progress, so many return guests along with some new faces have made the Homestead Suites their hotel of choice.  Weather has cooperated for the most part, and the last of the Spring blossoms have been viewed by all.  Hikers, bicyclists, and bird watchers have taken advantage of our great location at the entrance to Peninsula State Park. 

FISH CREEK CHATTER:

The marigolds have been planted that line Main Street !!  Year after year, travelers look forward to the colors that are reminiscent of years past.  Fish Creek is hopping with shoppers, and those anxious to dine at the favorite establishments, as well as those just taking a stroll in this quaint harbor town.

COFFEE HOUSE BUZZ:

Homestead Suites is ready for another fun-filled tourist season in Door County! Last weekend celebrated Mother's Day along with the Door County Half Marathon and Nicolet 5K in Peninsula State Park.  Guests who competed (walking or running) returned to the hotel - each with their own comments and story to tell.  Some were refreshed, others....not so much.  Chuck was looking for a good massage!!

FISH CREEK CHATTER:

Town is opening for the "Season".  Some restaurants and businesses are open full-time, while others are open just on weekends until Memorial Day Weekend.  The new construction at Julie's (next door) is almost complete, and the blossoms are budding!
