Easter Week

Homestead Coffee House Buzz:

Congratulations to one of our local turkey hunters who bagged a nice 22# turkey this week!

Two other local fishermen are back with great tans after a fishing trip to the Bahamas!

Fish Creek Chatter:

The snowbirds are arriving back in town one by one.  Little did they know that our weather is not eggs-actly what was expected the day before Easter.  Wish they would have brought some of that southern sunshine and warm temperatures back with them.

Kids are taking part in Easter Egg Hunts this weekend.  Things are hopping in town, too!

Location, Location, Location!

Enjoy the Great Outdoors in Fish Creek

With our great location at the entrance to Peninsula State Park, you can hike, bike, ski,  or
snowshoe right from our door.  Once in the park you can snowmobile,
kayak, golf, or take a dip at the beach. Don't forget to take the Lighthouse Tour and climb the Observation Tower!

Peninsula State Park established in 1909, is a 3,776-acre state treasure on Wisconsin's Door County peninsula. Nearly seven miles of Lake Michigan's Green Bay shoreline wrap around a landscape of forests, meadows and wetlands. Rocky bluffs ascend over 150 feet while deer graze contentedly in abandoned farm fields. Considered Wisconsin's most complete park, Peninsula is also its most popular camping destination and it's spectacular golf course.

Nor Door Sport & Cyclery is the #1 location for all of your biking needs in Door County. Located less than 100 yards from Peninsula State Park in Fish Creek, we can offer some of the most beautiful biking trails in the Midwest. Check out our huge selection of rentals or, if your bike needs some loving care, we have a full service repair shop, plus a great selection of brand-new Trek, Fisher, Klein and Lemond models, along with all the accessories and gear you'll ever need.

Door County Kayak Tours join us on a Door County Kayak Tour and enjoy an incredible day as we search for Petroglyphs, Swans, Eagles, Lighthouses, Caves, and much more! No Kayaking Experience Necessary! Many of our kayaking guests are first time Kayakers who are amazed with the patient teaching, how stable and effortless our kayaks glide through the water. When you Kayak with us all of your Sea Kayaking equipment is provided, your lesson is included, and an experienced kayak guide will plan your tour with you.

From Stage to Scenery, Fish Creek Entertains

Located in the heart of Door County, Wisconsin, Fish Creek boasts over 300 miles of scenic shoreline, five state parks, and hundreds of art studios. Fish Creek was settled by loggers and fishermen in 1853 and is now a bustling shoreline community that offers you the best in shopping, dining and entertainment.

Before starting your day of golf, biking or hiking in the State Park, stop and enjoy a cup of coffee in our lobby. We are one block away from the Door Community Auditorium which throughout the year features big name entertainers and is the home of the Peninsula Music Festival

Fish Creek is also close to other cultural attractions like Birch Creek Music Performance Center, the American Folklore Theater in Peninsula State Park and the Peninsula Players Theatre, the oldest professional resident summer theater in the U.S.

For the outdoor enthusiast, we have many activities available—from world-class golf to miles of hiking and biking trails. Located at the Peninsula State Park entrance, we offer the very best in biking, hiking, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. The park offers a complete trail system for everyone. Excellent fishing, beautiful sunsets, scenic bluff panoramas and 10 miles of rocky shoreline on Green Bay are all available right from our door.

With its picturesque harbor and waterfront, relaxing atmosphere, and cultural attractions, it's easy to see why Fish Creek is well-liked.

Gearing up . .

Homestead Coffee House Buzz

Can you believe it snowed yesterday with flurries lingering today?  After the major meltdown last week, about 3" of snow arrived yesterday morning.  Enough is enough!  I think we are all ready for the WARM days of Spring to arrive.

Even though Mother Nature takes her time, the Homestead Staff is busy preparing for the upcoming season.  Various rooms and hallways are receiving new carpeting for Easter, and the housekeepers are hopping at their Spring Cleaning duties.

What's New in Fish Creek

The Cookery should be open in a few weeks. The Wild Tomato is serving up hand-tossed pizza.   Looks like the Arroyo Bay Grill is open again for the season, too!

The ice will be off the bay soon, and local fisherman are eager to drop their lines.

The Door County Half Marathon is a sell out for the first Saturday in May, and we are so excited to see our return runners and their families back at the Homestead.
